I have heard it depends where the plane is registered??
I am 19. I don't drink as it is, but I am just curiousHow old do you have to be to drink on a plane on an international flight?IATA rules .... the country that the airline is from BA is UK registered then you must be 18+ as this is the law in the UK. If you are on an American plane then you must be 21+ to drink.
Don't forget one alcoholic drink in the air is like two on the ground. How old do you have to be to drink on a plane on an international flight?
generally speaking as I understand it, it is the drinking age of the country the plane is over or where it is bound for. In your case you might be able to get a drink when the plane is over Canada and headed out over the pond. That is as long as it isn't a US based carrier, because they have to abide by the US rules most of the time.
Ask for a glass of wine a little later in the flight and see what happens BUT you will have to pay for itHow old do you have to be to drink on a plane on an international flight?i believe that if the flight originates from or is heading to the usa you cannot drink alcohol until you are of us legal age (21).
for example i took a british airways flight from buffalo ny to london england and my 21st b-day was later that same week but they would not allow me to have an alcoholic beverage. what really ticked me off was the fact that they were giving out one glass of free champagne to anyone of age and i could have had a free glass of champagne if they would have just been nice since i was a few days from turning 21!How old do you have to be to drink on a plane on an international flight?
Mostly it would be down to the airline and what laws they are operating under, so a UK airline, such as BA, Virgin Atlantic etc.. would probably serve drinks to anyone 18 and older, whereas a USA airline, united, american, etc.. would expect you to be 21+How old do you have to be to drink on a plane on an international flight?if it's a british company then it would be 18
