How would you survive if your plane crashed into a mountain?

I read and saw the movie of "Alive" about the soccer team whose plane crashed in the Andes Mountains. Planes could never find them and they had to walk out after staying there 3 or 4 months I think.



They survived by eating the dead, but I was hoping to learn from the movie %26amp; the book what is the best way to survive if you're stuck in mountains.



There were no trees, so they couldn't start a fire. No food except for the dead (no plant life at all!)



Their radio was busted so they couldn't radio for help.

The order of importance is fire, then food then water. Ultimately it's food, water, and shelter from the elements. If you can obtain those things, then you can live. There's no "proper" way to survive - you just do what you have to do, as they did. If you are on a commercial flight that crashes, rescuers would be on their way very quickly. The best thing to do would be get away from the wreckage and any flames and wait. Because of radar, GPS, and EPIRBs, etc. the situation in "Alive" could not happen nowadays.
