How much does a plane ticket cost for a dog?

My husband and i are military, and will be moving to Germany in a few months. The army pays for everything, EXCEPT our dog.....she is a lab, and will be 1 year old when we fly out. Does anyone have any idea how much her plane ticket is going to cost? My husband says if it's too expensive we have to give her away, and i can't stand the thought of that. Well it depends on the airlines. It usually costs about $200-$350 to fly maybe more but at least that much. Also you have to have vaccinations up to date plus a health certificate about a week prior to travel. That's just a piece of paper say you have vaccinations up to date and that they are not sick. You also need the appropriate kennel for cargo shipment.



Usually you have to have a rabies vaccination at least 30 days prior to flying..



but if possible and your husband thinks it'll be too expensive then leave the dog with family or friends move to germany and save up for a few months then have the dog shipped through a pet carrier service. BUT that is the most expensive option, about $2000.00



Since you aren't moving immediately I'd say save up. It shouldn't cost more than $600 at most. But like I said check with the airlines and everything.
