How to stop little ears from popping on a plane?

We are flying out tomorrow night with my 5 year old and 17 month old(first time on a plane Yeaa!). My daughter should be fine since she can chew gum, but I don't know about the baby. He obviously can't chew gum and won't understand why his ears are hurting, if they do. Does anyone who has been through this before have any ideas that might help? Thanks all!How to stop little ears from popping on a plane?Does he take a pacifiier? Any kind of sucking will help his ears! So, if he still takes a bottle, that could work as well, if not, then you could give him his sippy cup, but I don't know if that will quite do the trick. I took mine on the plane, but he was only around 3 months, so I just nursed! How to stop little ears from popping on a plane?
Drinking from a cup with a spout or a straw might help. Something he has to suck on, not something he just tips up.How to stop little ears from popping on a plane?my son was about 2 when he first flew. we gave him a sippy cup of juice and some stuff to chew on cookies, crackers, etc basically some snack food he willingly took. he didn't seem to have a problem at all.How to stop little ears from popping on a plane?
Open your mouth and Yawn. Also chewing gum helps. How to stop little ears from popping on a plane? You can have him drink a bottle or sippy cup during takeoff and landing to encourage swallowing. FWIW, I have flown with my boys at the ages of 6 months, 18 months, 2 years, 3 years and 4 years and never once have they complained about their ears. I was worried about it in the beginning too, but they never had a problem. How to stop little ears from popping on a plane?
Give him a drink or give him a snack. What I usually do is put chocolate milk in my little ones sippy cup when we are going up and down. My kids don't get it often but when they do they can't get enough of it. Of course, whatever you give them to drink is fine.

You can tell when their ears are bothering them because they usually start grabbing/reaching at their ears or out of nowhere getting fussy. My ears popped on a flight back from our Christmas Holidays. It is not fun, I felt like I had cotton in my ears for 3 days. I guess that's what I get for flying with a head cold.
