Does missing your plane cancel your hotel booking?

My wife and I are planning a trip to Seattle, and we've already bought our plane tickets. We've found an incredible price for the Four Seasons, but it would require us to buy airline tickets as part of a vacation package. We're thinking about buying the package and just not using the tickets - would this be a problem at all?
