Does flying in a helicopter feel the same as flying in a plane?

The same movement and sensations. Or is it worse, or better? If you get air sick in a plane, is it also likely you'll get sick in the heli?Does flying in a helicopter feel the same as flying in a plane?i hate flying but love flying in a helicopter ! it is a different sensation . when you take off you tilt forward and landing is much smoother than a plane.

As already said, it's usually a little more unsteady and noticeably noisier. It's unlikely you'll be airsick, as you can see what's going on - that's usually what makes people queasy in a fixed wing aircraft, the movement when you can't see.



I've spent a lot of time in a Chinook, and can confirm that not for nothing is it known as the "shuddering sh1thouse". On the other hand the little Gazelle was like an enthusiastic ride in a sportscar. Very different.More noisy and more movement. As long as you are looking outside and can see the movement you will not be sick.
