Well, next Christmas I'm going to Slovakia to visit my family.
I've been once before, but the plane ride was a living hell for me. First of all, I was freaked out about crashing the whole time, especially when the plane got bumpy.
But the biggest thing was that I had a huge headache and I was sick the whole time.
The ride back to Canada wasn't as bad, but it was still nasty.
Do plane rides get easier once you've ridden them before, or should I take some kind of medication? How can I keep from getting sick on a plane ride?If you have travel anxiety then you would do very well with some kind of anti-anxiety medication like valium. Tell your doctor about your fears and he should give you a prescription. For the travel sickness there's a really great product in Australia that you can get over the counter callef "Travacalm". It's pretty hardcore (not just some herbal gimmick) and it works really well for me. You're supposed to take it 30min before departure and repeat every 4-6 hours. It can also cause drowsiness (which might also help you relax on the flight). I experience the same anxiety and travel sickness and find this combination of drugs to be a godsend.
Plane rides don't get easier so talk to your doctor about it!
