I bought a used polaris sl 650 and it takes forever for it to get out of the whole and plane out.I'm just looking for someone to tell me the few things i should do, starting from least expensive and up.What do i do on a Polaris SL 650 that takes forever to plane out on water?most likely at some point in time rocks or some other
debris has went through the pump, thus damaging the impeller.
If you have excessive vibration and cavitation at full throttle, this is most likely your problem.
using a flashlight, look into the back of the pump housing, you should be able to see the impeller, look at the edges for any dents or chipped edges.
while inspecting also check pump walls where the impeller is, look for
any gouges as these let water get by without full pressure. What do i do on a Polaris SL 650 that takes forever to plane out on water?Least expensive would be to move farther forward.
Most expensive would be to sell it and buy a more powerful machine.
Yours must not be tuned and or running properly. I own a 650 and 750. Both leave fast and plane quickly. The 750 has power trim, but it makes no difference at start. What do i do on a Polaris SL 650 that takes forever to plane out on water?Yup...lean forward, lose weight or check your drive impeller...probably chewed. What do i do on a Polaris SL 650 that takes forever to plane out on water?
Least expensive: drain all the water out. ALL the water. There could be water trapped inside the hull.
Most expensive: rebuild your engine.
